The synthetic waterproofing membranes made of TPO (polyolefin alloys: polyethylene and polypropylene) are the answer to the evolving waterproofing market.
Due to their high resistance to aging, TPO waterproofing membranes are mainly used for waterproofing reservoirs, dams and, in non-toxic versions, used in the protection of tanks for containing drinking water and food liquids, as well as fish farms.
They are industrial products with more controllable quality. They can be colored as desired and offer, depending on the types, high chemical stability, almost always high deformability, even when cold: they are more durable, do not require double-layer laying, and the quality of their welding process is more easily controlled. Some are self-adhesive.
